Kenya Power has been honoured with the Best Website (Public Sector) award at the 10th edition of the Africa Digital Economy Awards (ADEA), held at Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel in Nairobi.
The accolade recognises the utility’s investment in a modern, accessible, and user-centric digital platform that has improved customer engagement, transparency, and the delivery of online services.
The judging panel awarded Kenya Power’s revamped website for its user-friendly navigation, enhanced accessibility features for persons with special needs, a well-organised e-procurement section enabling bidders to easily access relevant tender information, a corruption reporting mechanism, clear customer service channels, and the integration of digital tools that simplify bill payments, outage reports, and service requests for millions of Kenyans.
The award is part of ADEA’s broader mandate to celebrate institutions and innovations that advance Africa’s digital transformation.
The Corporate Communications team received the award amid leaders from government, telco operators, startups, and regional tech champions who gathered for the milestone 10th ADEA ceremony.
The ADEA award adds to Kenya Power’s recent initiatives to modernise customer experience and strengthen digital channels that seek to support payments, enhance awareness of the Company's products and services, outage notifications, and energy-saving information.
As the Company looks to adopt new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and predictive analytics for forecasting energy demand, as well as informing future planning, it remains committed to driving operational excellence and innovation.
By leveraging these emerging technologies, the Company aims to enhance grid resilience, optimise energy distribution, and improve service delivery to customers.
This award follows last year’s recognition at the 13th Marketing World Awards (MWA), where the Corporate Communications team received three accolades: Public Sector Utility Brand of the Year, Communications Team of the Year (Public Sector), and Corporate Communications Personality of the Year, Kevin Sang.
